Volleyball Season Recap

The 2024 season for the North Idaho College volleyball team was a year of growth and challenges, as the team finished with an overall record of 8-13. This was the first season in the Scenic West Athletic Conference after rejoining the. They started off the season 7-6, and then encountered a rough stretch where they finished the remainder of the season 1-7. Multiple player injuries certainly played a factor. While the final record doesn't fully reflect the potential of the squad, the season was marked by moments of promise and determination. Under the guidance of Head Coach Drew Pascua, the team worked to improve their skills and chemistry throughout the year, overcoming setbacks and building a foundation for future success.

Despite their overall record, the Cards managed to finish quite well statistically in the conference; hovering around fifth for most categories. In 21 matches they finished averaging 8.74 kills per set thanks to Morgan Claus & Jordyn Williams who tailled 167 and 147 kills apiece. Claus was selected to the All-Region 2nd Team while Williams was a 3rd Team pick. Another big contributor was Rylie Dolven who recorded 222 assists this season out of the 321 team total. The team’s cohesion and work ethic were evident as they battled hard in every match, but inconsistency in execution and a few missed opportunities kept them from achieving a stronger record.

Looking ahead, the Cardinals are focused on using the 2024 season as a foundation for future success as they work to build a winning program. With a renewed focus on consistency, communication, and overall team chemistry, the program is poised for continued growth. The experiences and lessons learned this year will be invaluable as they work toward a more competitive and successful season in 2025.
