2023 North Idaho Cardinals Women's Soccer Preview

Coeur d'Alene, ID - Coming off an NWAC quarterfinals appearance and a third-place finish in a highly competitive East Region, North Idaho College Soccer looks to build off a successful season and win a title in its final NWAC season.

NIC Women's Soccer Coach Kellsi Parson returns for another season at the helm with a team of 15 freshman and 12 sophomores including NWAC East Region All Stars Teresa Ledezma and Mariel Stuart.

"We are a young group, so getting the team to click as soon as possible will be key for early season success," Parson said. "The returners that we have bring a ton of experience. All of them started multiple games for our team and will be great leaders as our season goes on."

Parson said she looks forward to seeing her squad mesh as a unit as they compete for a championship in NIC's final season in the NWAC. All NIC sports transfer back to the NJCAA next summer.

"We are very organized defensively," Parson said. "We return a core group that already knows our system and will help teach the freshman quickly."

NIC begins conference play against Blue Mountain Community College at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 in Pendleton, Ore., and ends its regular season against Walla Walla Community College at 4:15 p.m. at NIC's Coeur d'Alene campus.
