Spring 2023 opener results

The North Idaho College women’s golf team traveled to Lewiston, ID for the Lewis Clark Warrior Invitational on Monday, March 20 and 21. This invitational was a non-conference, 36-hole event hosted at Lewiston Country Club in which the Cardinals were the only two-year school out of the four schools. The Cards finished the event with team rounds of 348 and 347 for a two day total of 695.

Sophomore and Oregon Tech commit Navy Wood led the way for the Cardinals with her second round 79 placing her 8th place overall. Laila Jalil (85-87, 11th), Sofia Lippiello (87-88, 12th), and Lauryn Bulger (89-93, 13th) all had top-15 individual finishes.

“I was proud of the effort the women put in and how they fought on every shot,” Head Coach Russell Grove said. “It has been a long winter and it was tough going straight into an event without being able to practice outside yet in Coeur d’ Alene due to the long winter. However, what I saw out of the women was very promising given what we’ve had to work with and I know with a few weeks of prep before our next event we will be ready to compete.”

The women have a few weeks before their next event which is the Columbia Basin College NWAC League Match in Kennewick, WA on April 16-17.
