Lady Cards fall to CSI

TWIN FALLS — The visiting Cardinals shot 17 of 53, including 6 of 25 in the second half of a nonconference loss to the fourth-ranked Golden Eagles.

Deniece Ryan, a freshman guard from Albuquerque, had 10 points, four rebounds and four steals for NIC (1-3).

"She's a tough kid," NIC coach Nathan Covill said. "She gets the crap beat out of her and just keeps coming at them. We need to do a better job of getting our shooters some open looks."

Kaylee Headrick had 18 points and 12 rebounds for CSI (5-0).

CSI and NIC, reunited in the Scenic West Athletic Conference for the first time since the 2015-16 season, will meet again on Feb. 3 in Coeur d'Alene.

NIC faces Yavapai today in Twin Falls.
