Cardinal men seventh at Division II Western Washington invite

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Freshman Mason Barmingham shot a 3-under-par 213 to finish tied for 11th in the Western Washington Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

NIC finished seventh with an 870.

Xavier Bighaus of Colorado Christian was the medalist with a 13-under 213, leading the Division II Cougars of Lakewood, Colo., to the team title with an 827.

"It was a tough field this week with Colorado Christian being the No. 1 team in the country who won a (Division II) national championship last year," NIC men's golf coach Russell Grove said. "But it gives us something to work toward in where we need to be."

NIC will compete in the Brairwood Shootout at Brairwood Country Club in Billings, Mont., starting Sunday.
