Cardinals fall short to Tacoma

COEUR d'ALENE — Jalen Skalskiy, a redshirt sophomore from Lakeland High, hit a 3-pointer to make it 118-117 with under a second remaining for North Idaho College, which fell in the final game of the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn-vitational to Tacoma 120-117 at Rolly Williams Court on Saturday.

Skalskiy finished with 25 points, sophomore Dante Sawyer 27 points for NIC (10-4), which outrebounded the Titans 43-41. 

Tayon Sessoms had 25 points and five assists for Tacoma (7-3), which has won six straight.

NIC hosts Wenatchee Valley on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
