Cardinals top Gonzaga club team in hot-shooting game

COEUR d'ALENE — If you liked good shooting, Rolly Williams Court was the place to be Monday night.

North Idaho College shot 65.2% f(43 of 66) rom the field in a 113-100 victory over the Gonzaga club team. The GU squad shot 60% (36 of 60) from the field, including 63.6% (14 of 22) from 3-point land.

Dante Sawyer, a sophomore transfer from City College of San Francisco, scored 18 points to lead six NIC (3-2) players into double figures. Tayshawn Colvin added 16 points off the bench for the Cardinals.

Carter Sonneborn, whose previous basketball stops included Gonzaga Prep, Washington State and Whitworth, led all scorers with 27 points. He also had eight assists and six rebounds.

NIC returns to action next weekend with a pair of games in Casper, Wyo, beginning Nov. 24 at Casper College.
